DEAD SUMMER SOCIETY - VISIONS FROM A THOUSAND LIVES

By: Mujtaba

Italian dark metalers DEAD SUMMER SOCIETY had just released their debut album "Visions From A Thousand Lives", an album that will take you in a journey into a different atmospheres of metal world, some doom, some gothic, all in all is a dark melancholic album , taking influences from many aspects, and provide I unique combination that suits fans of the Doom metal in general, and the multiple female guest vocalist added an additional beauty. Despite all this, the album could be more astonishing if it got a better production.

MINORITY SOUND - ANALYSIS

By: Mujtaba

As the band name may indicate, the band try to introduce a new metal mix which some kind of a "minority" within the metal community a kind of "unique" metal combination with electronica, which is in fact, not a new thing, and that appears from the band influences [Fear Factory and Static X], and also some tracks sounded Samael recent industrial material.

The band debut "Analysis",  which its lyrics try to "Analyze" human existence, kick off in the wrong direction, the album sounded too shallow and0 generic in its first three tracks, but from "Paradox" and after , the album gets more exciting, more groovy riffs, and the electro- metal combination starts to pay off. All in all, it an interesting album, worth checking for genre fans, and may be for those who are trying to get something new to their ears.

BAHAL - IKELOS

By: Caludia

BAHAL get started after a short intro. Melodic solos which are alternated the next moment by dark growls and fast Death Metal sound structures sound towards me. The powerful, ever-presented drumming which however does not superimposed the song structures gives the all in all eight songs the final kick. BAHAL succeed with “Ikelos“ to combine the brutality and rapidity of the original Death Metal with extremely melodic solos in the mid tempo area and to process it to independent songs. Thereby the solos may also be Thrash Metal-tinted once in a while or make temporary leeway in the doom Metal area. You can also find here acoustic songs like “Il Bardo“ or “ Tra La Bracia Di Morfeo“ which could only live off the acoustic guitar.

As a result of it the whole is relaxed a little bit in order to go flat out again the next song. The gents are successful in not blocking the momentum of the music. A very interesting mixture which whets your appetite for listening!
