Highlights: Shoot Today - Kill Tomorrow
Get ready because I'm here to speak about one of the best pioneer pure thrash metal bands, one of these bands that you can't just listen to their songs without breaking your neck on their speedy guitar riffs, yes !!! I'm here to speak about the German thrash metal Legend Sodom, between the many thrash metal bands in this field which goes to the modern thrash metal style, Sodom is one of these bands that wants their fans to keep the real thrash metal flame in. Sodom are going to release their 14th album on April 2013. And am listening to this album right now, It's just an example of the mastery of other Sodom releases, this 3-member-ed group managed everything in this outfit to set in the best of 2013 releases, not less because that what I expect from the leaders of Teutonic Thrash Metal.
Going into the album, the first thing came to my mind when I heard the opening of "Epitome of Torture" was this sounds exactly like it should be. It sounds like something that could have been in the "Show No Mercy" album. And that is not a bad thing at all!! "Epitome of Torture" is a very aggressive outfit; straight ahead thrash with a great guitar solo. All the tracks just take you back to the days when 80's thrash metal was kicking some asses. This album is a real headbangers home; the vocals sound A LOT like Tom's vocal style. The highlight of this album for me is "Shoot Today - Kill Tomorrow", drumming is just like an angry dog barking! The pace is really fast, and of course a great guitar riffs.
Musically, there’s not much else to say -As I said earlier- it picked up right where the first album left off, so if you like one you’ll like the other. The only additional notes are about Mr. Makka's Job, this man handles every single drum line like a cheese cake and it restores the original trashy art (both front and back) of the genre and also I want to send my respect to the producer Mr. Waldemar Sorychta the guitarist and keyboardist of the "Grip Inc." American groove metal group, who had been participating as guest in many legendary bands like; Moonspell, Tiamat, Lacuna Coil, Rotting Christ, Therion and many more.
