Highlights:  Cold Sky, Wendigo

I've kept my eyes on the doom death metal band Frailty since the release of the excellent debut album "Lost Lifeless Lights" in 2008, and now this band has just cracked the ground of the global doom metal scene with another fantastic album. I was sure that this album will be a great hit even before I gave it the first listen, maybe because the performance of the debut album is still stuck inside my mind, but in the end all of my expectations were true.

The album starts its tale with the catchy tracks "Wendigo" and "Cold Sky", the deep growling vocals and the charming flowing riffs of the guitars reminded me of the band Saturnus, and the calm spoken vocals reminded me of the band My Dying Bride. The 14 minutes track "Desolate Moors" is one of the strongest tracks in this record despite of its length, the sound of the clean guitar sections and the calm strings have created a total tragedy for all the doom metal fans. Some faster pieces like "Underwater" and "The Eternal Emerald" show the other dynamic heavy face of the band, and such tracks are reflecting faster tempos and more active drumming.

There is another 14 minutes track in this record, the track "The Doomed Hall Of Damnation" that shows the same spirit of the track "Desolate Moors", and its another perfect great example of how to create a memorable long doom death metal piece. The melodies of the lead guitars in the track "Thundering Heights" are merging with the atmospheric keyboards to create one hell of a track. The organic drumming and the superior production of this record have played the roles perfectly to make the whole atmosphere sound modern and excellent.

If you are a fan of the Doom Metal masters (My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Saturnus, Daylight Dies) then I recommend this album for you. The solid materials and the amazing performance of this Latvian band have been created for your ears, so let your mind sink in the melodies that the members created.
