"A Shade of Red" sees the band take a different direction from their previous releases. It represents an amalgam of genres that include Djent, Industrial metal, metalcore, and ingrained traces of Nu-metal. The album directly laments over personal issues and many sociological elements that many struggle to deal with. The aim was to highlight the clash between the "self" and "environment", highlighting the issues associated with technology addiction, corporate cultures, educational systems, and addiction.

As the band stated on its Facebook Page regarding its new album, "It has been a truly life-changing experience putting this record together over the past 18 months. The album directly laments over personal issues and many sociological elements we struggle with. We are immensely proud of this milestone in our musical endeavor and cannot wait to share this with all of you. Coat of Arms would not be here without your unwavering support."

The band has also announced its participation on two international Summer Festivals. They will take part on Portugal's Santa Maria Summer Fest in June and they will co-headline Maelstrom Festival in Sri Lanka in August.
